6'2" and love the SSS, much more comfortable to settle into than other small cars. Head room is great and I don't have it low

I looked at the 'mass in service' on the V5 for each car.
    My 3dr ZC32S says 1115kg, wife's Viva says 1037kg, Insignia says 1953kg.

Interesting video...when the driver caught up with the GT86 I was expecting him to breeze by, the GT86 is quite quick at the top end of its rev range but it didn't look like the Sport had the legs for the pass.

But what a difference a nice set of wheels makes on the new Sport.

Maybe the straights weren’t long enough to get the new Sport working. I mean, if they were, he could have perhaps got into a higher gear and put the turbo to more work.

I must admit, the new Swift seemed to accelerate very fast out of the corners. That will be great fun on roundabouts.

But, yes, you’re right. It did look good with those wheels... and graphics.

Hard to say without knowing the relative talents of the drivers but the fact the Swift was able to even get near a GT86 on a track is a pretty good sign.

I'd like to chase a GT86 down a B road...after test driving one I'am not sure it would get away from a N/A Sport, it's 200kg heavier that's quite a bit of lard.

Really looking forward to a go in the Turbo Sport it's got me more curious now.

The new SSS is expected to be a bit wider than its predecessors. 1.70m for the previous model, 1.74m for the incoming model. That's the same width as the current Corsa and Fiesta - and the current Corsa is not much different in size to the Astras of 10-15 years ago.

For me, one of the attractions of the ZC32 was its more compact dimensions: easier to park and more margin for error on twisty roads - including errors of other drivers who no longer seem to possess the driving skills required to stay on their side of the road on tight, blind B-road bends.
